COVID-19 outbreaks at two more Fraser Health care homes

SURREY (NEWS 1130) — Two more care homes in the Fraser Health Authority have confirmed COVID-19 outbreaks.

A staff member at the Amenida Seniors Community in Surrey has tested positive for COVID-19, as has one at the Agassiz Seniors Community.

“Fraser Health has declared outbreaks at these locations, and a rapid response team is at each site,” says a release on Monday.

“The two staff members are currently in self-isolation at their homes.”

Amenida is an assisted and independent living facility. Agassiz Seniors Community is a long-term care facility owned and operated by Park Place Seniors Living.

The province announced outbreaks at three other care homes on Friday, as well as two in the community.

There are currently 19 long-term care or assisted-living facilities and two acute-care facilities with active outbreaks.
