Weekend stabbing in Richmond targeted: RCMP

RICHMOND (NEWS 1130) — A stabbing in Richmond on the weekend was targeted, according to RCMP.

It happened around 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the city’s downtown core, along No. 3 Road at Westminster Highway.

“The victim was allegedly involved in an altercation with several suspects during which he was stabbed,” RCMP says in a release.

The suspects drove away in a dark-coloured SUV before officers arrived.

The male victim was taken to hospital with multiple stab wounds, then later released.

“This incident is believed to be targeted,” police says.

The Richmond RCMP Serious Crime Unit is investigating.
