COVID-19 outbreaks declared at Langley Memorial, Ridge Meadows Hospital

SURREY (NEWS 1130) — Fraser Health declared COVID-19 outbreaks at two Lower Mainland hospitals Thursday.

According to the health authority, the outbreaks at Langley Memorial Hospital and Ridge Meadows Hospital are both contained to single units.

In Langley, one staff member has tested positive.

“The outbreak is limited to one unit, which is temporarily closed to admissions,” reads a release from Fraser Health, which does not indicate which unit is affected.

In Maple Ridge, one worker and one patient have tested positive in a rehabilitation unit which has now been closed to new patients.

“Fraser Health has notified all patients on the affected units about the outbreaks, and in addition, have informed the families of patients who are unable to share this information. Langley Memorial Hospital and Ridge Meadows Memorial Hospital are working with essential visitors to the affected units on a case-by-case basis,” the release reads.
