Man arrested for murder after South Vancouver stabbing

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — A 34-year-old man has died after being stabbed in South Vancouver Saturday night, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

Police say the victim, Damien Franklin Yeung, was stabbed by another man around 9 p.m. near East 57 Avenue and Prince Edward Street. He was taken to the hospital but died from his injuries.

A 30-year-old man has been arrested for murder, and remains in custody.

“Several heads-up witnesses provided detailed descriptions of the suspect and where he was last seen,” writes Cst. Jason Doucette in a release.

“Minutes later, police arrested the suspect a block from the crime scene.”

Police say the victim and the suspect appear to have known each other.
