BURNABY (NEWS 1130) — The Homicide Team is investigating after an 18-year-old woman was killed in Burnaby this weekend.
According to Sgt. Frank Jang with IHIT, Burnaby RCMP were called to the home near N Gilmore Avenue and Oxford Street just after noon on Sunday.
That’s where they found the victim who had life-threatening injuries.

Despite being rushed to the hospital, the victim died at hospital.
At the time, one man was arrested, but he’s since been released. No criminal charges have been laid so far.
The woman and man arrested are known to one another according to Jang.
Police believe this was an isolated incident, with no risk to the public.
“This was not gang-related. This was not drug-related. This was a massively tragic case,” Jang said.
