Chilliwack RCMP investigating suspected arson at empty car repair shop

CHILLIWACK (NEWS 1130) — RCMP in Chilliwack are investigating a suspected arson that broke out at a car repair shop Saturday morning.

The fire department was called to the site early around 3:00 a.m. near Victoria Avenue and Young Road.

“Firefighters … witnessed smoke and flame coming from the roof system of a vacant automotive repair business,” a release from the RCMP reads.

While crews were quickly able to knock down flames the building did sustain minor fire and smoke damage.

No one was hurt and so far no arrests have been made.
