Canada Post says don’t be surprised by long lines or shortage of stamps

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — If you’re struggling to find supplies to pack and mail your Christmas cards and gifts, you’re not alone.

Canada Post admits some of its outlets have experienced unprecedented sales growth on stamps, supplies, and shipping services this holiday season.

The service says many Canadians are mailing gifts and holiday cards to loved ones who they may have visited in person in previous years.

To address the high volume, Canada Post promises replacements are en route to outlets that need them.

And to help get presents delivered on time, Canada Post has hired 4,000 temporary employees and put 1,000 extra vehicles on the road.

Postal workers are also working around the clock and post offices have extended their hours.
