BURNABY (NEWS 1130) — An 81-year-old woman died in hospital Sunday after she was hit by a vehicle last week in Burnaby, police say.

According to a release, the woman was struck at the intersection of Imperial Street and Sussex Avenue Friday, leaving her in critical condition.


“Once again, we are asking drivers and pedestrians to take extra precaution this time of year,” says Cpl. Mike Kalanj. “Visibility can be poor at all times of the day, please be alert.”

The driver stayed at the scene and police don’t believe speed or alcohol played a part in the crash.
