SURREY (NEWS 1130) — An online fundraiser for the family of Paramjit Masutta — a “heroic mother” from Surrey who died moments after saving her twin daughters’ lives — is being flooded with donations.
Within the first five hours of launching, a GoFundMe raised nearly $20,000 Friday.
Just days before her 49th birthday on Christmas Eve, Paramjit Massuta pushed her twin daughters out of the way of a runaway car and saved their lives while sacrificing her own. Her husband has now set up a gofundme campaign https://t.co/S9WAgCzn1h @NEWS1130

Paramjit was killed by a runaway, driverless delivery van in Newton Tuesday while walking with her eight-year-old twin daughters.
“The family had just moved in the neighborhood and were enjoying a wholesome life before this tragedy suddenly took the road from under them all,” according to the GoFundMe.
“On the way home from school with two 8-year-old twin girls, laughing and walking along safely as far from the road as they could – that was Paramjit – always keeping her kids safe.”

Now, her husband’s “dreams are shattered” because he will have to raise his daughters without their mother.
“Daljit will have to not only come to terms with the sudden loss of his loving wife of 26 years but to raise his bright girls up to fulfill their lives and dreams,” the GoFundMe continues.
The family was looking forward to celebrating Christmas, and Paramjit’s 49th birthday.
The support from the community has been overwhelming, with the girls’ school receiving many calls from parents asking how they can help support the family.
