DELTA (NEWS 1130) — Two children have allegedly been sexually assaulted in Delta this weekend.

The incident happened when a pair of boys were playing at the South Delta Secondary School in Tsawwassen.

Around 3:00 to 3:30 p.m., a teenage boy — between the ages of 15-18 — had been hanging out in the same area according to the kids.

“He then approached the children and started interacting with them. He allegedly tried to grab them by their arms, before touching the boys in a sexual manner,” a release from the Delta police reads.

The suspect is described as an Asian male of average height, wearing a red jacket.

“We understand news such as this is very concerning to parents and that’s why we wanted to get this information out quickly. Police just finished conducting a number of key interviews,” Cris Leykauf with the Delta Police says.

“Our officers are interested in speaking with a small group of males who were playing basketball nearby – on the Sunday afternoon – who may have had interactions with same male suspect.”

If you have any information about the incident or have dashcam footage of the area, call the Delta Police at 604-946-4411, and quote file 20-29588.
