MAPLE RIDGE (NEWS 1130) — A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at a Maple Ridge hospital after the Fraser Health Authority found evidence of transmission in an inpatient rehab unit.
Two patients tested positive for the virus and the outbreak is limited to the general rehab unit, according to the health authority.

The unit is temporarily closed, but the rest of the hospital is open and fully operational.

This comes a day after outbreaks were confirmed at two other Lower Mainland hospitals, Abbotsford Regional and Langley Memorial.
All patients and their families have been told about the outbreak and contact tracing, as well as enhanced cleaning, has already started.
