Manslaughter charge laid against security guard following Trinity Western fight

LANGLEY (NEWS 1130) — A manslaughter charge has been laid against the security guard who was involved in a deadly altercation with a man at the Trinity Western University campus in Langley last year.
Howard Glen Hill, 31, died following the Sept. 30, 2020 fight where he was left unresponsive and taken to hospital in critical condition.

The 51-year-old now charged with manslaughter is Jack Cruthers Hutchinson.

At the time, police reported it was an isolated incident involving an agitated man who was not a TWU student.

Several days later, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) took on the file.
IHIT confirmed a manslaughter charge was approved against 51-year-old Jack Cruthers Hutchinson in December.
His next court appearance is set for Feb. 4 in Surrey.
