DAWSON CREEK (NEWS 1130) – After a video of an assault on a Walmart employee made the rounds online late last year, two people have been charged, says the BC Prosecution Service (BCPS).

“The BCPS can confirm that Jordon Alex Taylor and Kennedy Jane Pace are charged with assault following an incident that allegedly occurred on November 20, 2020 at or near Dawson Creek,” the service says in a statement to NEWS 1130.

Taylor has also been charged with one count of mischief in relation to a cellphone.

They will both make court appearances in a Dawson Creek court next month.

Initially, RCMP said the person was arrested at the scene after a confrontation over mask rules. At the time, wearing a face-covering was required in public spaces under the provincial health order.

The employee involved wasn’t badly hurt and didn’t need immediate medical attention.

Under the health order, those who don’t wear a mask and/or engage in abusive behaviour could be fined up to $230.
