‘Serious’ police incident shuts down section of East Hastings in Vancouver

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Vancouver Police officers are currently dealing with what is only being described as a “serious” incident on the Downtown Eastside.
The incident has East Hastings Street blocked off in both directions between Heatley and Jackson avenues.

“Drivers should expect disruptions and choose another route,” an email from the VPD reads.
No other details are being shared at the moment, but police say there is no risk to the public at this time.
Downtown commuters can take Powell or Prior streets to avoid this road closure.
