KELOWNA (NEWS 1130) – The Big White Ski Resort has recorded 19 more cases of COVID-19 since Friday.
All but 55 of the 162 cases confirmed so far by Interior Health are people living in the area near Kelowna. The so-called community cluster was initially linked to a party in late November.
Right now, 29 cases are still listed as active.
Skiing on the mountain has been deemed safe, as long as you stick to your immediate household bubble and don’t socialize with others.
Under current public health orders, social gatherings have been restricted and there is an advisory to only travel if it is essential, which means sticking to local ski hills.
All #Covid19 public health orders and restrictions in BC have been extended until Feb 5, 2021 — two incubation periods. Public health is our top priority — and by doing our part & following PHO orders & guidelines, we can all help keep our hospitals, schools, & communities safe. pic.twitter.com/DLJndlIE99
