NEW WESTMINSTER (NEWS 1130) – A man riding a stolen motorcycle made it easy for police in New Westminster to find him.
Police say a man was arrested Wednesday morning after an officer spotted him riding a motorbike down a sidewalk with no helmet on.
He was stopped and when asked for documentation, it was revealed he didn’t have a licence, the bike was reported as stolen, and the man himself was violating a number of previous court-ordered conditions.
“Thanks to the excellent work of this officer, we’re able to return this motorcycle to its rightful owner,” says Sgt. Sanjay Kumar. “May we remind anyone that has court ordered conditions that they’re court orders, not court suggestions.”

The motorcycle has been returned to its rightful owner.
New Westminster police are encouraging people to photograph their belonging as well as take down any relevant serial numbers. These steps, they say, can help if these items are ever stolen.
