BC Place lighting up to mark Black History Month Tuesday night

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — BC Place will be lit up in red, black, and green Tuesday night as a way to mark Black History Month.

The Pan-African flag, also known as the Black Liberation flag, has become a powerful symbol of Black pride in the 1960s and its colours will be featured in the special display.

“It’s a time to a time to honour, celebrate and reflect on the stories, experiences and accomplishments of Black Canadians here in British Columbia and across the country,” a tweet from BC Place reads.

The stadium has all kinds of displays in the works for February, including one for Heart Month Wednesday and another for World Cancer Day on Thursday.
