Senior assaulted in Vancouver after refusing to buy man cigarettes

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — A 31-year-old man has been charged after a 71-year-old man was assaulted for refusing to buy the man cigarettes.
Vancouver Police arrested the suspect outside a convenience store around Pacific Boulevard and Davie Street in Yaletown Saturday afternoon.
The VPD explains the senior was heading to the corner store for lottery tickets when a man asked him to buy cigarettes. But when the 71-year-old refused, the suspect followed him into the store and shoved him into a display case.
The senior fell to the ground and cut his elbow.
The man arrested has been charged with assault.
