VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A man could be charged with assault after an employee was spat in the face at a convenience store in Downtown Vancouver.
Police say the worker asked the suspect to wear a mask when he walked into the store near Seymour and Dunsmuir Streets on Sunday. The suspect apparently refused to comply, and police say the employee, in turn, refused to serve him.
That’s when police say the man spat right in the worker’s face.

“After the spitting, a physical fight ensued between the two men,” Cst. Tania Visintin says.
Police say the suspect got into a car and drove off; officers tracked him down and arrested him. Visintin calls it a “selfish action” and “senseless assault.”
“No employee deserves to be assaulted for simply following the health orders set in place,” she adds.
Charges of assault recommended after a 36-year-old man allegedly spat in the face of a convenience store employee at Seymour/Dunsmuir Streets after being asked to wear a ???? yesterday. After the spitting, there was a fight and the suspect drove off but was tracked down/arrested.
