Five COVID-19 cases within the Vancouver Police Department

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The Vancouver Police Department is dealing with five cases of COVID-19, forcing more than two dozen members to self-isolate due to potential exposure.

Three of the cases are within one team at the police department near Graveley St. and Boundary Rd.

The two others involve employees at two different locations and the VPD says they are not related to the cases at Gravely Street.

According to the department, 27 sworn and civilian members are self-isolating right now.

The police department says it has taken all the steps necessary to conduct the appropriate contact tracing and ensure the exposure is contained.

On its website, the VPD says all front line members are given personal protective equipment and also have access to gloves, masks, and personal respiratory masks.
