Man punched at Vancouver gym after asking someone to mask up

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — A downtown Vancouver gym is the site of the latest violent confrontation involving an anti-masker.

Police say a man was assaulted on Wednesday after asking another customer at the unnamed gym to mask up.

The customer refused and later returned to confront the victim.

Witnesses told police the customer pushed and punched the victim numerous times. The victim also hit his head on an exercise machine while falling and needed 12 stitches for a head wound.

The suspect was arrested by police at the gym and is facing charges of assault causing bodily harm.
