Quebec launches COVID-19 vaccination booking system, records 858 new cases

QUEBEC (NEWS 1130) – As seniors in B.C. await details on exactly when clinics will open to them for COVID-19 shots, those aged 85 and up in Quebec can now book their appointments. Vaccinations will begin next week in the Montreal region.
On Thursday, Quebec reported 858 new infections and 16 more deaths related to COVID-19. There are 633 needing hospitalization in that province.
Ontario reported 1,138 new cases. The launch of the vaccination booking system there is still weeks away.
British Columbians are expecting to learn more on Monday about vaccination clinics for the general population.
In Manitoba, 67 additional COVID-19 cases were recorded and one death. The province’s numbers have been trending lower in recent days, although there are still high numbers, per capita, in some northern communities.
There were four new cases recorded in Nunavut, for a total of 25 active cases.
New Brunswick reported one new case. Officials say the number of active reported cases in the province is 49 and two patients are hospitalized with the disease, including one in intensive care.
