Surrey RCMP looking for man who ‘wrapped his arms around’ teenage girl

SURREY (NEWS 1130) — Mounties in Surrey are asking for help identifying a man who assaulted a girl while she was walking in Cloverdale Friday afternoon.

At around noon, a “female youth” was walking on 70 Avenue near 191 Street when she was approached by a stranger who “wrapped his arms around her.”

“The youth was able to break free from the man, run to a near-by school and call for assistance. The youth was not physically injured,” according to a statement from Surrey RCMP.

Police are trying to identify a suspect. The man is described as a tall, thin, white, and in his 40s. He was wearing a red Nike hoodie and black sweat pants.

Anyone who was in the area at the time and has information or dashcam footage is being asked to call 604-599-0502.
