Seth Rogen expands weed company into U.S.

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — Vancouver-born actor Seth Rogen is expanding his brand of pot, and taking his business south of the border — and he is very excited.

His cannabis brand Houseplant launched in Canada back in 2019, but on Monday the weed-enthusiast and entrepreneur announced his brand will be available in California next week.

“If you know anything about me at all I’m going to assume it’s that I really love weed but what you probably don’t know about me is that I have been working on my own weed company for the last 10 years and we are finally ready to launch in America,” he says in a video posted to Twitter.

“This is honestly my life’s work and I’ve never been more excited about anything. I hope you enjoy it.”

The strains developed by the Pineapple Express actor are named after weather systems. The company will sell lighters, ceramic containers, and other household essentials for those who partake of the plant.

Soon after Rogen made his announcement, the website crashed.

Rogen has also advocated for the expungement of criminal records for cannabis crimes post-legalization, and been vocal about how he wants to see less stigma surrounding marijuana use.
