COVID-19 continues to spread in Whistler among ‘young adults’ in ‘household settings’

WHISTLER (NEWS 1130) — Transmission of COVID-19 continues in Whistler, although the number of new cases is declining.
According to an update from the health authority Thursday, 198 new cases were recorded between Feb. 22 and Feb. 28 — eight fewer than in the previous reporting period.

“The reported cases continue to be identified among young adults who live in the Whistler community. The most common location for transmission continues to be in household settings,” reads a statement from Vancouver Coastal Health.
“VCH advises all Whistler residents and visitors to avoid social gatherings with those outside of their immediate bubbles, to stay home while sick, to wash their hands regularly, and to maintain physical distance when in public.”
There have been 720 cases recorded in the resort municipality since Jan. 1, 2021, 699 people have recovered.
