NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — The search for a missing North Vancouver woman has been going strong for a week, but police have found no sign of Fatemeh Abdolali.

The 35-year old was last seen around noon on Feb. 26 near Marine Drive and Capilano Road.

Sgt. Peter DeVries says the North Vancouver RCMP are renewing an appeal for information because their investigation has hit a dead end.

“We are concerned because we’ve been pursuing some investigational leads to try to find her and although we don’t feel that there is any foul play involved. We do need to find her and make sure she’s okay,” he says.

“We’re concerned, but we’re not losing hope. We’re continuing to do everything we can to find her, but we’re asking for the public’s help.”

Abdolali is 5’4 and was last seen wearing a light pink sweater, grey/white walking shoes, and carrying a black shopping bag.

Her purse and ID were found was behind Heywood park Heywood Park shortly after she was reported missing.

DeVries says the effort to locate Abdolali has been extensive.

“In the initial stages of a missing person investigation, we do things like check hotel registers. We look in look at local hospitals to see if a person is checked into a hospital. We follow up with friends coworkers acquaintances. We look through transit video. In this case, we had our air one services out doing an aerial search, we had our police dog services out doing some work with the sniffer dogs,” he says.

“We’ve taken a lot of these investigational steps but we just have not been able to uncover anything that would lead us to where she might be.”

Anyone who sees Abdolali is asked to call 911. Anyone with information can call the North Vancouver RCMP’s missing person unit at 604-985-1311.
