Missing Merritt cowboy’s employer doubles reward for information

MERRITT (NEWS 1130) – The reward to help find Ben Tyner has doubled to $30,000. The cowboy from Merritt has been missing for over two years.
John Liu, the owner of the Nicola Ranch where Tyner worked, is offering $15,000 for information that can help find him.
On the second anniversary of him being reported missing, Tyner’s family had offered a $15,000 reward.

Tyner, originally from Wyoming, was the manager of the ranch when he disappeared in January, 2019. A couple of months later, RCMP confirmed it was a suspicious case.
Mounties have since said he was likely killed.
Tyner was 32 years old when he was last seen on Jan. 26, 2019 as he rode out on horseback, possibly to search for cattle in the surrounding hills. He was reported missing two days later when his saddled horse was found wandering on a logging road off Highway 97C near Winnie Flats.
