Woman shot to death on Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A woman is dead after a shooting on Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.
“Vancouver police were called to the Arco Hotel, which is a social housing building in the Downtown Easide, at around 4 a.m.,” said Sgt. Steve Addison. “When we arrived on scene, we found a woman who was suffering from a gunshot wound.”
The wounded woman was found in a common area within the building. She later died in the hospital.

No arrests have been made.
“We believe that the suspect fled prior to police arriving at the building,” Addison said.
The victim has not yet been identified. It’s unclear if she knew her attacker.
“It’s still very early stages of the investigation. We’re working through all of those details, trying to understand the exact circumstances of what happened,” Addison noted.
