Fire at Strathcona Park site prompts investigation

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — Vancouver Fire Crews were out in Strathcona Park Saturday night after a structure at the site went up in flames.

Assistant Chief Richard Warnock says crews were able to knock down the fire relatively quickly because a fire truck was returning from another call in the area.

“It just worked out very well,” he says. “They did arrive on scene they [saw] 20-foot flames and they were able to get it under control pretty quick,” he says.

No one was hurt, and so far there’s no cause for the fire.
