VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — ICBC says rebate cheques that were delayed because of a cyberattack are now being sent out.
A release from the public insurer says the cheques are coming out in “small batches” at first, and work continues to send out more in the coming weeks.
As of Friday morning, cheques have been issued to around 30,000 customers.
The investigation into the cyberattack which affected a third-party vendor is ongoing.
“The safety and security of customers’ information remains our top priority. There remains no indication that any information was obtained by unauthorized parties. The event did not impact ICBC’s systems, which are secure,” a release reads.
Cheques were supposed to be mailed out on March 15.
