Coquitlam shooting sends one man to hospital

COQUITLAM (NEWS 1130) – No arrests have been made after a man was shot in Coquitlam Monday night.
The RCMP says officers were called to the area of Decaire Street just off of Brunette Avenue just before 9:30 p.m.
Staff Sergeant Paul Vadik said one man was taken to the hospital. Officers remained on scene into the night to gather evidence.
“We believe there is no further threat to the public in relation to this incident,” he added.

Meanwhile, a car on fire was found near the scene. Investigators have not yet determined if it’s connected to the shooting.
“The investigation’s still unfolding,” Vadik said, noting the vehicle was “close by.”
