Fraser Health COVID-19 vaccine booking system experiencing delays

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Fraser Health is asking for patience with its COVID-19 booking system as phone lines see greater call volumes Tuesday.

The health authority says its online booking tool is not available as it prepares to transition to a provincial system.

That means people in the Fraser Health region will have to schedule their vaccine appointments by phone, which has resulted in a large volume of calls.

Currently, Indigenous people age 55 and older, as well as other British Columbians 73 years of age and older can book their COVID-19 shots. People in the Fraser Health region who are in the designated age groups can call 1-855-755-2455 to get in line for a booking.

The online system is expected to be back up and running around 7 p.m.

People are being reminded to please only call to book a vaccine appointment when their age group is asked to do so.
