The Kelowna Rockets have postponed their next nine games

This comes after four players and two staff members tested positive for COVID-19

The team has to suspend all activities for two weeks

KELOWNA (NEWS 113) — The Western Hockey League has announced the suspension of team activities for the Kelowna Rockets for at least 14 days.

The news comes after six people tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday. One person tested positive for the infection Tuesday.

Players and hockey staff were immediately isolated and tested, and contact tracing is underway.

The positive COVID-19 test results belong to two Hockey Staff members and four players on the Kelowna Rockets within the Team Cohort.

Several regular-season games have been postponed — including Wednesday’s showdown between the Vancouver Giants and the Prince George Cougars.
