ABBOTSFORD (NEWS 1130) – A man who was found stabbed in Abbotsford has died of his injuries.

Police say the victim was found inside a tent at a homeless encampment near Riverside Road and King Road Wednesday night.

The man was unresponsive when officers arrived. He died in the hospital.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over the case. It has identified the victim as 35-year-old Robert Nelson.

“We’re still trying to figure out if our victim … in fact, lived here,” Sgt. Frank Jang said.

“If you were out driving though the area or if you were out walking, if you heard anything suspicious or saw anything suspicious last night around 10 p.m., 10:15 p.m. give us a call at IHIT or contact the Abbotsford Police Department
