Vancouver Fashion Week adapts to pandemic, heads online for second year

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Events that had been forced to go digital at the start of the pandemic in 2020 are now fine-tuned heading into the second summer of rising COVID cases.

Vancouver Fashion Week’s digital showcase will be online once again from April 16th to 18th.

Vancouver Kids Fashion Week also takes place digitally and will be broadcast from April 17th to 18th.

During the pandemic, themes for this season’s showcase will include “individualism, perseverance, and ingenuity,” and will also feature collaborations with self-care brands and “stay-cation essentials.”

The shows take place daily from 3 p.m. and will be featured on the VFW website, as well as on various social media platforms.

The event’s 36th season will also be its second digital showcase of international award-winning designers from over 25 global fashion capitals, including creators not only based in Vancouver, but also Korea, France, Netherlands, Japan, Germany, the USA, and Australia.

According to Vancouver Fashion Week, the focus has been on “offering the ultimate and most engaging online fashion experience across three days of runway shows,” and will feature new collections from designers for the Fall/Winter 2021 season.
