Senior hit, killed by truck on Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Vancouver police are asking for witnesses to come forward after a 67-year-old man was hit and killed by a semi-truck on the Downtown Eastside Tuesday morning.

It happened on E. Cordova St. near Princess Ave. around 9:45 a.m.

The driver of the truck stayed at the scene — neither speed nor alcohol appear to be factors.

This is the city’s fifth pedestrian fatality in 2021.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage is asked to call Vancouver Police at 604-717-3012.
