Downtown Vancouver’s Miku offers unique pop-up dining experience

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Miku restaurant will be launching a pop-up Kaiseki Experience for only two weeks.

Kaiseki is a traditional multi-course Japanese dinner, which focuses on expertly prepared, beautifully displayed, flavourful fine dining.

From April 26 to May 9, the ocean-front restaurant will feature “Two limited-edition menus by Executive Chef Kazuhiro Hayashi and his team, highlighting Miku’s signature sushi and modern Japanese-West Coast cuisine served on artisan Japanese plateware.”

This special feature will be available to eight patio tables, and only two seatings are available each evening, making this an exclusive affair.

“With only eight patio tables, we hope our diners will enjoy an even more special evening overlooking the water.” says Seigo Nakamura, with Aburi Restaurants Canada.

According to a press release, the first menu featured is the eight-course “Miku Kaiseki” for $150 per person, which boasts a luxurious selection of “Sashimi, Pan Seared Hokkaido Scallop, Shinshu Akamiso-Cured Brome Lake Duck Breast, Shio Koji Haida Gwaii Wild Sablefish, Miku’s Aburi Prime nigiri omakase, A5 Miyazaki Wagyu Nigiri, and a beautiful Chocolate Earl Grey Choux to finish.”

Alternatively, diners could choose the equally impressive six-course “Waterfront Kaiseki” for $98 per person, which offers “a chef’s feature amuse-bouche, Aburi Beef Carpaccio, seasonal sashimi selection, AAA Sterling Silver Filet Mignon, Signature Sushi Selection, and Miku’s classic Green Tea Opera dessert.”

A vegetarian Kaiseki menu is also available for anyone with dietary preferences or restrictions.

For those who don’t get a chance to enjoy this exclusive dining experience, Miku’s a la carte menu continues to be available during lunchtime on the patio, as well as its ‘Aburi at Home’ menu for pick-up or delivery.

“We are incredibly thankful to have our guests’ unwavering support during this time,” says Nakamura, emphasizing the struggle of many restaurant businesses amid the ongoing pandemic, adding “As we forge on, we want to continue to innovate unique dining options for our guests. Our Kaiseki Experience was thoughtfully created to evoke the spirit of celebration with each course.”
