Lions Gate Hospital declares COVID-19 outbreak

NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — Sixteen patients and one employee at Lions Gate Hospital have tested positive for COVID-19, and Vancouver Coastal Health has declared an outbreak.
According to the health authority, the outbreak is affecting two units on the fourth floor of the hospital.
“The unit is closed to new admissions and transfers at this time. All non-essential visits to the fourth floor of Lions Gate Hospital have been suspended until the outbreak measures have
been lifted; the exception being for compassionate visits at the end of life,” according to a statement.
The emergency room remains open.
