19-year-old man shot in Surrey Friday night

The man went to a Surrey hospital but later died of his injuries

Police do not think the shooting is related to a recent spat of gang violence on the Lower Mainland

SURREY (NEWS 1130) – A 19-year-old man is dead after he was shot Friday night in Surrey.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) says the man arrived at a unspecified Surrey hospital with a gunshot wound just after 1:30 p.m. He later died of his injuries.

Police think this is an isolated incident and no one else is at risk, but it also does not appear to be related to a recent string of daylight, gang-related shootings on the Lower Mainland.
