Shooting in Surrey Tuesday night has sent one woman to hospital

One man has been arrested

Mounties say t's not clear what the motive is or if this is related to a recent string of gang related shootings

SURREY (NEWS 1130) — A woman has been rushed to hospital following a shooting in the Guildford area of Surrey on Tuesday night.

Surrey RCMP says officers responded to a dropped 9-1-1 call near 96 Avenue and 160 Street at around 9 p.m.

At the scene, mounties found a female victim who had been shot.

She’s in hospital and is being treated for her injuries.

One man was taken into custody without incident.

The motive isn’t clear at this time, and Mounties will be in the area overnight to gather evidence.

This is the fifth shooting in the Lower Mainland since Friday.
