Vigil planned for corrections officer killed in Delta shooting

DELTA (NEWS 1130) – A candlelight vigil is being held for the provincial corrections officer who was shot and killed outside a busy mall in Delta last weekend.

Family, friends, and coworkers will remember 29-year-old Bikram Randhawa on Friday starting at 6 p.m.

Randhawa was fatally shot in broad daylight outside Scottsdale Centre on Saturday, May 1. Officers were called to the area of 72nd Avenue and Scott Road around 5 p.m.

Delta Police has said Randhawa’s killing has the markings of a targeted gang hit, but investigators have not confirmed any links and say they are exploring all possible motives.
