VANCOUVER (CityNews) — Summertime is just around the corner, and with warm weather many of us like a cooler full of cold, refreshing, (and sometimes fruit-infused) beer. Granville Island Brewing is teasing the ultimate new summer refreshment — They’re putting on a full launch event and inviting people to experience their peachiest creation yet!
According to the website, the ten-day pop-up event launch of the Peach Sour will be an “immersive experience,” and will take place in Gastown, from May 14 to 24.
“You are invited to taste, interact, reflect, pose and enjoy,” reads the webpage.
The event is free, but it is also helping to raise money for the Vancouver Food Bank, and visitors are encouraged to donate $5 to the food bank by texting a peach emoji to 30333.
With very few clues about what exactly the full experience entails on the event website, the possibilities are endless, but CityNews dug up some clues for those who want all the juicy details before they attend.
The event is being put on in partnership with Lee’s Donuts, so it’s safe to assume that there will be much more to it than peach-flavoured sour beer available at the pop-up — We’re betting on some tasty peach donuts, too!
In an Instagram story, the reason for the pop-up event reads, “We wanted to create a space to allow for a moment of reflection: It has been a hard year of unexpected highs, lows, learning, and growth. We invite you to pause and consider what fresh take you have after this year.”
Other Instagram posts and stories offer more clues about what you can expect, including a serving bar perfectly prepped to dole out delicious treats, an effervescent feature wall with bubbles inside, and an adorably sweet peach wall mural to put stickers on and pose in front of.
The event FAQ reminds guests that COVID-19 protocols are in place, which means reduced capacity, physical distancing, entry limited to three groups at a time, with a maximum of six guests per group, and mandatory masks. The page also emphasizes that staff will sanitize frequently between each 15-minute reservation, employees and guests will get temperature checks and a pre-screening questionnaire.
