COVID-19 outbreak declared at Richmond long-term care home

RICHMOND (NEWS 1130) – Vancouver Coastal Health has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at Richmond Lions Manor-Bridgeport long-term care home.
This comes as two patients and two staff tested positive for COVID-19.
Visits to the home are not permitted for now, unless they are deemed essential.
“The home is closed to new admissions and transfers at this time and all group activities have been suspended. Visits to the third floor of Richmond Lions Manor-Bridgeport have been suspended until the outbreak measures have been lifted; the exception being for essential care or compassionate visits at the end of life,” said a VCH spokesperson.

Meanwhile in North Vancouver, an outbreak on the 4th floor of Lion Gate Hospital is declared over according to Vancouver Coastal Health.
In a release, VCH says the unit is now open to admissions and transfers.
“A total of 36 people, including five staff, tested positive for COVID-19 during the outbreak and seven individuals, all patients, have passed away,” wrote a VCH spokesperson.
VCH says all acute care facilities including Lion Gate Hospital are restricted to essential visits.
