NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A group of hikers — including three kids — has made it to safety after spending a cold night in Cypress Provincial Park.
Just minutes after North Shore Rescue put out word on Monday that the group was missing, search manager Dale Weidman confirmed they were okay.
“It looks like they have gotten out on their own, and they took a cab down the mountain,” he told NEWS 1130.
Well that was fast: @NSRescue says the group has made it out safely after spending the night in the mountains. They took a cab down, and are now debriefing. Rescuers say they were not properly equipped to be out there @NEWS1130 https://t.co/4obmA6kEFP

The group consisted of two moms, and kids as young as eight years old.
North Shore Rescue got the call for help just after midnight, around 12:30 a.m.
“We have not seen them, but from what our understand is, they were fine,” Weidman said.
He says there are still patches of snow on Cypress, and that the group was not equipped to handle the conditions.
