People are being reminded to take extra care and to check up on friends, neighbours, family

Lower Mainlanders are reminded to follow COVID-19 rules and protocols

With temperatures set to shatter records once again on Monday, cities and regional districts are making cooling stations available to you to help you find some relief.

You’re being reminded that COVID-19 precautions and measures are still in place. Some facilities still have a cap on visitor numbers.

You’re also being asked to check on your neighbours, friends, and family who may be vulnerable amid this heat.

Abbotsford

Cooling centres offering shade, water, misting fans, and cooling supplies:

  • Seven Oaks Alliance Church parking lot at 2575 Gladwin Road (open 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on days when temperature exceeds 32 degrees or 30 degrees for consecutive days)
  • .City-owned parking lot at 2495 West Railway Street (open 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on days when temperature exceeds 32 degrees or 30 degrees for consecutive days)

Cooling centres open to provide air conditioned environment, cold water:

  • Heritage Alliance Church at 3440 Mt Lehman Road (12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday to Tuesday)
  • Cascade Community Church at 35190 Delair Road (1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday)
