COQUITLAM (NEWS 1130) — A fire tore through a Coquitlam home while the owners were out and their pets were inside Friday afternoon.
Fire crews were called to the area near Dewdney Trunk Road and Irvine Street around 4 p.m., and Fire Chief Jim Ogloff says “the extent of damage has consumed the entirety of the building.”
“It’s a total loss for the homeowners. They’re very distraught,” he says, adding there are no injures to report.
Ogloff adds, the owner’s pets are missing.
There will be an investigation into the fire, but according to Ogloff, so far, the fire is not believed to be suspicious.
