Abbotsford police looking for witnesses to ‘serious assault’

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS 1130) – Abbotsford police are looking for potential witnesses to an assault in a strip mall laneway this week.

It happened at noon on Wednesday on Ventura Lane, near South Fraser Way and W. Bourquin Crescent. Police haven’t shared any details of what happened other than to call it a “serious assault” that sent a person to the hospital.

The suspect is believed to be male and was wearing a hooded top.

Investigators hope to speak with people who were seen in CCTV footage in the area at the time, including people who were in a dark-coloured Tesla seen driving south out of the parking lot and heading east through the lane.

They’re also looking for a second witness, described as “female [who] exited a pickup truck and walked north down Ventura Lane when the suspect fled the scene and ran past her.”
