SQUAMISH (NEWS 1130) — Looking for something fun to do with the family today? All aboard! The Railway Museum of British Columbia in Squamish is open again — complete with fun train rides including the Royal Hudson and delicious food.
Craig McDowall with the museum says tickets cost $75 for a family or $25 for an individual.
“That includes four different types of rides: we have mini rail rides, we have a big train ride, we have speeder rides, there’s all kinds of activities to do. You can get in the cab of the Royal Hudson, ring the bell.”
You can pack a lunch to bring with you, or enjoy some scrumptious options from the museum’s food trailer.
“We have everything from pulled pork to hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken strips, French fries, you name it! It’s a lot of fun.”
The museum, like almost everything else, was closed last year because of the pandemic.
“It was really tough — as folks probably know we had no day out with Thomas, we didn’t have the Polar Express, those were our two main revenue generators, of course we are a nonprofit.”
The Railway Museum of BC is open every Saturday until September from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
