Abbotsford Police confirm no fatalities following crash that injured 16 Tuesday

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS 1130) — Abbotsford police confirm no one has died after more than a dozen people were hurt in Tuesday morning’s crash on Maclure Road.

It’s still unclear what caused the crash in but Police say it appears a pickup crossed the median on Maclure Road just east of Trethewey and collided with a work van.

That van had 14 people inside, all of whom were treated.

“Three patients were critical, including one patient airlifted to hospital. Two more patients were transported to hospital in serious but stable condition,” an email statement from Emergency Health Services reads.

EHS says 11 other people were treated at the scene for various injuries, but did not require hospitalization.

The collision shutdown the road for hours between Trethewey Street and Gladwin Road.

Police say the driver of the pickup is still in hospital and is badly hurt.

A third vehicle was also involved and that driver was taken to hospital.

WorkSafe BC is also looking into the crash since a work van with 14 people inside was involved.
