Man attacked by black bear near Vanderhoof

FORT FRASER (NEWS 1130) – A man was taken to hospital Sunday, after he was attacked by a black bear east of Vanderhoof.
BC Conservation Officer Service (BCCOS) says the man was attacked in the Fort Fraser area around 10:30 a.m. The Conservation Officer Service Predator Attack Team responded, along with RCMP and BC Emergency Health Services.

According to BCCOS, the man was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but his current condition is unknown.
“Bystanders at the scene helped scare the bear away,” BCCOS wrote on social media.
